Surviving Hepatitis C in AZ Jails, State Prisons, and Federal Detention Centers.
The "Hard Time" blogspot is a volunteer-run site for the political organization of people with Hepatitis C behind and beyond prison walls, their loved ones, and whomever cares to join us. We are neither legal nor medical professionals. Some of us may organize for support, but this site is primarily dedicated to education and activism; we are fighting for prevention, detection, treatment, and a cure for Hepatitis C, particularly down in the trenches where most people are dying - in prison or on the street... Join us.

Pray for the dead and fight like hell for the living.

Join the Hard Time Hep C Alliance for a prayer vigil outside the AZ Department of Corrections on World Hepatitis Day to remember those who have died from the illness, and to organize our forces to better fight for the living - both in the "free world", and behind bars.

There will also be literature on hand about prison abolition, hepatitis in the prisons, and ideas for prevention and harm reduction methods, such as needle exchange/condom distribution in jail/prison.

Bring extra layers in case it gets chilly as the sun goes down. We will provide water, literature, sign-making materials, luminarias and candles. Bring photos of loved ones with hep c, and signs or symbolic items/actions that promote Hep C awareness, humanizes prisoners, and celebrates their tenacious hold on life and the endurance of their families.

Contact Peggy (prisonabolitionist@gmail.com) or Julie (julie.akers@yahoo.com) for more info.
